Overview IT (Information Technology) Professional Year Program
The 44-week course is designed especially for graduates and postgraduates in Information Technology.
The program comprises of 32-week theoretical classes, seminars and workshops where team of qualified trainers educate students about Australian work etiquettes, culture, workplace relations and business communications skills. Students are also taught effective interview techniques and resume building strategies.
The rest of the 12-week program is mostly an unpaid internship program with a reputed organization to get a hands-on experience and specialized training about Australian work culture.
Checklist for Eligibility to Apply for the Professional Year in IT
Age Requirement:
- Candidates must be aged between 18 and 45 years.
Educational Qualification:
- Possession of a graduate or postgraduate degree in IT.
- The degree must be from a reputed Australian university.
- The degree should grant credit points equivalent to at least 2 years of study.
Language Proficiency:
- A minimum score of 6 in each module of the IELTS English proficiency test, or
- An overall score of at least 50 in the PTE exam.
Visa Requirements:
- Possession or application for a valid 485 subclass visa.
- The visa should have a minimum validity of 12 months.

Are You Eligible for Professional Year (PY) in IT?
To be eligible for the Professional Year Program in IT, you need to meet these requirements:
- You should have finished a recognized IT degree in Australia, which gives you at least 2 years’ worth of credit points.
- You must score a minimum of 6 in the IELTS English proficiency test, with a score of 6 in each band, or achieve an overall PTE score of 50, with at least 50 in each band.
- You need to either have or apply for a Visa 485 with at least 12 months of validity.
Meeting these criteria opens the door to a promising career in IT through the PY program.
